Hair-raising camping on the vertical rock cliff

They perched more than 3,000 feet high on specially designed tents, suspended on El Capitan’s vertical rock face in California’s Yosemite National Park.

Thanks to the tents, the avid adventurers can pitch up on the side of a cliff wherever they please and take a well-earned nap. And the pictures which were taken by one of the trio, Belgian photographer Alexandre Eggermont, has captured all the fertile valley full of trees, creating a stunning view.

The viewers share the common comments including “brave” and “crazy”. “Very exciting picture! I think you are all crazy, but it makes fabulous pictures. Bravo”, one said.

Climbers often camp on cliff faces during difficult climbs, as it often takes several day to summit. While the specialised tents protect them from harsh weather, they do not protect from falling rock. Toilet breaks can also prove tricky to navigate.

Santa in the sky: Belgian dinners served in a flying sleigh

(Wanderlusttips #Belgium #Brussels) To start the festive season, Belgian dinners flied up Santa Claus’s sleigh and dined with him on above the city’s rooftops and twinkling Christmas lights. “Santa in the Sky” launched as a magical four-day pop-up in the Belgian capital, and was a seasonal twist on the regular “Dinner in the Sky” venture.

Diners were welcomed by a bell-ringing Santa Claus, and could drink hot chocolate with him and warm themselves with a delicious Belgian waffle. From their vantage point strapped securely into chairs in the sky, guests were able to take in the Christmas lights below, as well as watching the chef cook in an open kitchen. They also sang Christmas carols. They could also enjoy a dinner menu from distinguished chefs, some with Michelin stars to their name, as well as high tea.

Events in the Sky is a Brussels-based firm that has brought the sky-dining experience to 58 countries over the past decade. It will be heading to Marrakech in Morocco in December, Teotihuacán in Mexico in January 2017, Brussels in June, and France and various locations in the UK over the summer. According to Michael Chiche, project manager of Events in the Sky, the four-day Christmas event is likely to be repeated next year, according to the project manager Michael Chiche.

On Friday evening, Maxime Mazier’s menu included a lobster and artichoke starter, line-caught sea bass with shellfish and coconut marshmallow with mango. The trick, Chiche said, was coping with the gusts of winter night air that whip around the sleigh.

Domino’s Pizza makes their delivery with reindeer

(#wanderlusttips #Dominospizza) Ordering pizza is not a festive thing to do in the up-coming Christmas season. But Donino’s Pizza in Japan is developing a plan to make your takeout a little bit more Christmassy: by getting it delivered to your doorstep by reindeer.

If you’re in Japan and want to know whether Rudolf will be delivering your margherita, all you have to do is check the app from December and if the reindeer icon pops up, you’re in luck. Each sled has a GPS Driver Tracker on it so you can watch in real time as your pizza makes its way towards you. Here you can see the reindeer getting trained up, ready to deliver the deep dish goodness to you.

Seeing as Japan is set for a particularly cold winter with increased snowfalls, transport by reindeer just plain makes sense – they can safely deliver pizzas to places where bikes might struggle.
