Twenty guests from many countries around the world, known as influencers in the travel community, including travel bloggers, photographers and travel editors, got involved in the Hello World #5 program for an unforgettable adventure in a few handpicked destinations throughout the splendid S-shaped land. A particular favourite was the vibrant Ho Chi Minh City, renowned for the long history of the Cu Chi District and the unique experiences in Can Gio District. Arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, the Hello World #5 guests were completely fascinated when setting foot in Central Post Office for the first time. The beautiful post office was intricately designed with a unique yellow exterior in an ancient architectural style that really stands out against the brilliant Saigon sunshine. A red flag famed with a yellow star flying in the wind and a large clock is prominent features in the middle of the post office. Tourists walking inside the post office were mesmerised by the large domed ceilings, two historical Saigon maps on the two sides of the entrance, old telephone booths and special Saigon postcards.

WAR REMNANTS MUSEUM

At the heart of the labyrinth of alleyways in Saigon, Hao Si Ward, a 100-year-old alleyway was a must-see destination on the Hello World #5 itinerary. Hao Si Phuong used to be home to the Chinese or Vietnamese-Chinese community. Currently, many Vietnamese people have moved here, creating a unique cultural dynamic. During this part of the trip, the guests were extremely impressed with the peaceful space and the simple lifestyle of residents. The houses located in the old alley form a quiet oasis separated from the hectic sounds of the city.

During the journey, the Hello World #5 guests visited the ITE HCMC 2019 – a prestigious annual travel event. ITE HCMC has established itself as an important international travel exhibition throughout the region. It is a place where travel communities have contributed their responsibility to promote and attract tourists to Vietnam as well as introducing the beauty of Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular to the world. Here, the members visited Wanderlust Tips Travel Magazine’s booth and were extremely impressed with the attractive, practical and popular publications that are highly valued by the travel community.

Located in the north of Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi Tunnels mark the underground battles that brought an inspirational and historical perspective to the Hello World #5 team. From the city centre, tourists can easily travel to Cu Chi District by bus or car. However, the Hello World #5 guests opted for a boat trip along the Saigon River. Visiting Cu Chi Tunnels made the guests surprised and overwhelmed as if they were getting lost in an underground city. The site has 200km of underground tunnels with hospitals, living areas, kitchens, storage facilities, working rooms and an intersected system all hidden under the bushes.
