Along with the growth of Vietnam tourism industry in 2017, AccorHotels Group has a remarkable development, said Ianic Menard, Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Distribution, Upper Southeast and Northeast Asia.
“2017 has also been a remarkable year for AccorHotels in Vietnam,” says Ianic Menard,“and the tremendous growth of our hotels – in terms of both sheer number of rooms and the expansion of our brand portfolio to cover every market segment from luxury to economy – has no doubt played a part in the extraordinary growth of Vietnam’s tourism industry”.
According to an August report from the United Nations World Travel Organization, Vietnam is now the world’s sixth most popular destination and number one in Asia in terms of tourism growth. This year, the country aims to attract 13 million international travellers – a projected 31.2% rise over 2016.
AccorHotels currently manages 24 hotels in Vietnam with 5,448 rooms across a wide brand spectrum that includes Sofitel, MGallery by Sofitel, Pullman, Grand Mercure, Novotel, ibis and ibis Styles in eight key cities. The group will be opening another 15 properties in the country by 2020, bringing its total portfolio there to 39, and is growing its presence in such rising-star destinations as Phu Quoc, Hai Phong, Sapa, Nha Trang, Yen Tu, Ninh Binh, Quang Binh and Hanoi.
“while international travellers remain the main source of guests at our upscale hotels, we have been welcoming an increasing number of domestic guests, and are reinforcing our commitment to the highest level of service at our luxury brands, that is, Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery by Sofitel, and Grand Mercure, as well as placing greater emphasis on our food & beverage offerings”, added Mr. Mernard.
To express its appreciation to the business and media partners who have played such an important role in the successes of the past year, AccorHotels hosted an Appreciation Night on 19th October at Pullman Saigon Centre welcoming more than 200 guests including international company heads, representatives from embassies, consulates, travel agencies and the media, as well as celebrities.
